EARLY KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM

Pre-Kindergarten Program Overview:

At our Pre-Kindergarten program, our primary goal is to provide children with the social and emotional support they need to thrive and prepare them mentally and physically for kindergarten. We believe in fostering healthy relationships among peers and teachers while strengthening existing skills and introducing new ones.

Structure: Our program closely mirrors a typical day in kindergarten, with a balance of structured learning activities, hands-on experiences, and free play. Our teachers carefully plan and prepare all activities to ensure they are engaging and developmentally appropriate for our young learners.

Routines: We follow a consistent daily routine that children can easily follow and anticipate, although we remain flexible to accommodate changing needs and interests. Our routines provide a sense of stability and security while allowing for exploration and spontaneity.

Social-Emotional Growth: We prioritize the social and emotional development of our students, teaching them strategies to navigate their emotions and interact positively with others. Through modeling, "I" statements, and maintaining a 5:1 ratio of positive to corrective interactions, we empower children to regulate their emotions and support their peers.

Learning: Learning is a dynamic and hands-on experience in our program. We focus on developing fine motor skills through activities such as lacing, sorting, and using tools, with adaptive equipment available as needed. Gross motor skills are also emphasized through outdoor activities like soccer, running, jumping, and indoor activities like dancing and parachute games.

Language Arts, Math, and Science: We prioritize the essentials of language arts, math, and science, teaching foundational skills such as writing names, ABCs, shapes, and numbers. Our approach to teaching is highly experiential, incorporating activities like writing in pudding or shaving cream to reinforce proper grip and engaging in sensory exploration to introduce scientific concepts.
